Technical system overview and network infrastructure description

General Overview

X-Storage is a Web 3.0 global decentralised data storage and distribution network with additional live streaming capabilities and enhanced 3D rendering resources for real time gameplay services and 3D-VR visualisation (metaverse on-ramp interfase and hosting environment).

The infrastructure is a combination of up to millions of individual storage devices and 3D rendering hardware controlled by a highly performant peer to peer network management software layer and an open access gateway with a web based front end interface for any demands of storing and securely handling any kind and any volumes of data and other distributed rendering service tasks .

All states of blockchain logged data like validation, storage / distribution, handling and smart contract execution are fully based on the XRP network and its toolkits.

Contributing and sharing fast accessible memory drive space for data storage and the existing low latency high bandwidth connection for data delivery, will be incentivised by earning XSTX.

The validation and qualification process, to become a X-Storage partner, will have just a few but clearly specified minimum requirements to keep entry barriers low but the network fast, flexible and therefore highly competitive.

Furthermore X-Storage will create an economically valuable set of network applications to offer more profitable streams of income as an alternative to the current communities of PoW miners. It is not necessary to mention, but if the access to (your) the Metaverse will require a $ 1,000+ gaming type hardware for the best user experience, the audience becomes limited.

A metaverse project has to provide a unified access for non 3D devices like Smartphones, Web-Pads, simple notebooks / PCs and smart TVs in perfect visualisation quality to provide the full user experience.

The X-Storage decentralised network structure is built on a solid and long time proven peer to peer protocol combined with a state of the art 512-bit encryption layer based on the well known and very safe private / public key security procedure.

X-Storage decided not to go an uncertain route of “reinventing the wheel” of encryption. Instead our approach is to use existing and proven technologies, to concentrate resources and funds on the development of the X-Storage core applications. Network Structure

X-Storage Main Hub 

The X-Storage Main Hub is the web front end layer of X-Strage Ltd. Singapore (all rights reserved 2021) for users, partners, customers, affiliates and service providers. This Web 3.0 web front end layer is a decentralised XRP blockchain synchronized software gateway provided by thousands of X-Storage partner hubs. Registration, login and all transfer procedures are released and secured via the XRP XUMM wallet and by the native XRP blockchain procedures.

The individual wallet account will be combined with the X-Storage account and is used for all akuring tasks of authentifikation (access to services, billing/payment, low cost transactions). This will provide a fast and simple user experience, profiting from the high security demands of the XRP standart (ISO 20022).

After a quick and simple registration the website is offering to go further as an X-Storage user (like GDrive, Dropbox, WeTransfer) or as an X-Storage provider for various levels of services to earn attractive rewards in XSTX.

The qualification to become a provider for the X-Storage Network is dependent on clear requirements for the underlying hardware, network connection and availability of service. To ensure the quality of service X-Storage has an integrated and easy to use web tool on their main hub website to evaluate and benchmark the system of the provider and his network connection to unlock the right level of service.

The dashboard of the user interface of the X-Storage Main Hub website provides all necessary data and information about the system status/usage/resources, activated levels of service, XSTX earnings and other available options.

X-Storage Master Validation Hubs

The X-Storage Master Validation Hub is a key element of the X-Storage network. This system will be managed by qualified and approved partners of X-Storage Ldt..

The number of partnerships to run a full X-Storage Master Validation Hub will be limited to a total of 32 permissions. Applying partners have to fulfill a certain level of requirements (g.e. hardware infrastructure and place of location, network bandwidth, KYC, reliability check, deposited XSTX escrow security) to get their permission granted.

This firstline partners of X-Storage are the privileged Master Validators for observing / controlling all data, service and XSTX transactions, approving the data en-/decryption processes, validating and allowing final loggings into the XRP blockchain of all the other partners connected to the X-Storage network. Furthermore the interconnected X-Storage

Master Validation Hubs are the given entities for decentralized “hosting” of the X-Storage Main Hub Web 3.0 frontend, gateway and its service management layer.

Each X-Storage Master Validation Hub is constantly checking, mapping, benchmarking and administering all available resources of all sub connected X-Storage Cluster Hubs and

X-Storage Cluster Units which represent the main infrastructure elements of the full decentralized X-Storage network.

This allows the Master Validation Hubs to analyse and evaluate the demands of the end user for data distribution or additional services and to provide optimised and local destination oriented allocation of data storage and streaming exit points of very low latency.

Therefore is monitoring the communication and the multiple data exchange processes between all X-Storage Cluster Hubs and their associated X-Storage Cluster Units the generic task of a licenced Master Validation Hub for managing their distribution of resources and services across the X-Storage network.

This max. of 32 X-Storage Master Validation Hub permissions will be incentivised by shared fractions of all occurring service and transaction fees paid in XSTX.

X-Storage Cluster Hubs

X-Storage Cluster Hubs are the 2nd layer system structure elements of the X-Storage network infrastructure. They are connected to the X-Storage Master Validation Hubs (1st layer) and to its allotted network of multiple X-Storage Cluster Units (3rd Layer).

These dynamic connections of an X-Storage Cluster Hub to the 1st and 3rd layer system elements of the X-Storage network become established by clear rules of latency driven and local oriented network bandwidth for fastest data distribution to ensure the best user experience.

The requirements to become an X-Storage Cluster Hub certification are very moderate in terms of hardware and administrative verification. There will be at a first step approximately 10,000 licenses granted. The final number of X-Storage Cluster Hubs is limited to around 320,000 licences due to the fact that managing more X-Storage Cluster Hubs would not result in any further positive benefits of performance or service availability for the entire

X-Storage network.

The main task of all active X-Storage Cluster Hubs available in the X-Storage network is to ensure a fast and seamless indexation, handling, storage, streaming, billing and management of all data and their combined services. This element of the X-Storage network is critical as to relieve the X-Storage Master Validation Hubs by preprocessing and relaying the entire flow of communication to and from the X-Storage Cluster Units.

The billig like all other relevant operations of an X-Storage Cluster Hub is solely driven by smart contracts and all emerging efforts get compensated by earning XSTX.

The hardware of an X-Storage Cluster Hub can be an up to date midrange PC, with 24/7 online status, min. 16GByte of RAM and a SSD with min. 1TByte of free space. The bandwidth of the broadband connection should exceed real 100MBit/s down and min.

50MBit/s upstream. Administratively, applying for an X-Storage Cluster Hub licence will just require a simple KYC and a small XSTX escrow.

Depending on the setup of the hardware and the benchmark of the online connection, an

X-Storage Cluster Hub can get allotted between 128 and 2048 X-Storage Cluster Units (3rd layer) to perform various control, decision making and management tasks for these units.

X-Storage Cluster Units

The 3rd layer of the X-Storage network is represented by the X-Storage Cluster Units differentiated, specified and configured for the various service demands of the customer or end user. These are the real work forces of the X-Storage technology consisting thousands of end devices to make a self organising, decentralised network for data storage, streaming and 3D VR rendering possibile (available).

Depending on its case of use these X-Storage Cluster Units can be normal PC’s, laptop computers, NAS devices, web servers, HDD/SSD storage arrays, render workstations, former PoW mining racks or even smart phones. More likely than for all other layers of the system architecture – availability and network speed is essential for this 3rd layer of the

X-Storage network since all requests for end user services will be finally (directly) connected to these classes of devices.

Therefore each of the individual X-Storage Cluster Units will be automatically benchmarked and rated by the X-Storage Smart Configurator (browser based plug-in delivered by the 1st level X-Storage Main Hub) to classify the ranche of available performance and capacity. This procedure is a revolving process and will be performed time after time to ensure a constant and real time overview of the real resources of the entire X-Storage network available.

To realize a generic and simple adaptation of a maximum of qualified X-Storage Cluster Units we eliminated the need for installation of any software to these end devices.

This means that independent of the OS (WIN, UNIX, LINUX, iOS, Android) of the device all processes of administration, configuration and delivery of service will be handled via a browser based user interface.

The initial steps to join the X-Storage network as an operator of one or more X-Storage Cluster Units is designed quite simple and therefore limited to just two steps.

The first step is to connect the user end device to the X-Storage network by simply binding the XUMM wallet address to the device of service as a master identification key to fulfill the entire part of administration. No KYC is needed.

Secondly after the XUMM wallet connection has been established the web based UI will ask for permission to perform a full system benchmark and rating to define the extent of real capabilities of service of this hardware and its network connection. Now this hardware device is registered X-Storage Cluster Unit and ready to be available and to serve at the X-Storage network.

All information about just a single X-Storage Cluster Unit or multiple units connected to the same XUMM wallet address will be displayed at the dashboard of the web based X-Storage

UI (X-Storage Master Validation Hub). This information shows in detail efficiency, usage, performance, existing resources, type / level / state of service and XSTX earnings of each connected X-Storage Cluster Unit.

All X-Storage Cluster Units are service wise directly managed by their connected X-Storage Cluster Hub (2nd layer) and will be settled financially by the X-Storage Master Validation Hub (1st layer) since this element of the X-Storage network is solely entitled to perform operations to the XRP blockchain for billing purposes.

Users of X-Storage Services

Generally the provided service of the X-Storage network infrastructure will be completely invisible for the customer/end user.

The X-Storage network is in most cases of data storage and streaming just a high performance and flexible bridge of delivery for existing business models of 3rd party service providers and their applications like AMAZON, NETFLIX, SKY, Disney, WeTransfer, DropBox and many more. Therefore there will be no hardware or user end device requirements given by X-Storage itself.

The X-Storage network will dramatically reduce large investments and high operating costs of standing server farms for these service and content providers.

New business models like “real time” game streaming or 3D-VR streaming enabled by the X-Storage network technology will be developed and deployed in the very near future and is literally opening up a new world of possibilities and revenue streams.

This technology will set a to date impossible low entry level to e.g. high quality video gaming without any high performance 3D hardware at the customer end. Just a living room smart TV or web tablet connected to the X-Storage network will deliver a user gaming experience “near” the existing high performance game consoles (X-Box, Playstation) or gaming PC’s.

Furthermore, the current path of emerging 3D-VR worlds (Meta, DCL) has a lot of barriers for a real and wide mass market adoption. These barriers are mainly restrictions of 3D graphic calculation capabilities for 95% of the customer end devices like smart TV’s, web tablets or even laptops and standard PC’s.

Those kinds of devices are simply not capable of delivering the needed performance for these types of tasks. The X-Storage network can solve these issues without the need of replacing the infrastructure at the client side.

The customer device (e.g. smart TV) will work under the X-Storage technology just as a “remote control” and as the displaying screen for the externally calculated 3D data converted into a video re-streamed “near” real time picture at the “low cost” user device (smart TV).

This will enable a perfect user experience for these emerging 3D-VR worlds with the lowest level of hardware thinkable. It will provide millions of people with access via the X-Storage network.

Data Storage

The function of conventional but highly demanded data storage needs no further detailed explanation. The storage of data managed by the X-Storage network is decentralized but locally oriented.

The X-Storage technology is splitting all handled data for storage into small data containers (max. 64Mbyte) 256 bit to 512 bit encrypted. All data containers will be duplicated and on multiple X-Storage Cluster Units. The standard of the X-Storage network is an effective fivefold redundancy.

Customers with special demands for very high data security can adjust the redundancy and encryption method of their data via the Web-UI of X-Storage network.


The streaming feature of the X-Storage network includes all kinds of data streaming and data broadcasting.

The X-Storage streaming service is covering:

  • video and audio broadcasting (e.g. digital broadcasting of TV networks, channels and radio stations)
  • individual video streaming (e.g. highly secured video conference service, video on demand, CCTV)
  • IoT data streaming service (e.g. facility control, observing and controlling production and manufacturing processes, smart home gateway)

All data for streaming services on demand will be stored and archived by an intelligent learnable software to deliver data streams flourless and efficiently concerning the lowest possible latency

Game Streaming

The market section of electronic gaming has grown over the last decade tremendously and its turnover exceeds the combined income of the whole music and movie industries worldwide.

The quality and realism of the game content have improved dramatically in recent years. The related hardware needed has become more complex and much more expensive as well.

This is the major limiting factor for the further market expansion of the leading companies in the electronic games industry (e.g. EA, Ubisoft, Activision-Blizzard).

The currently decreasing availability of these required hardware components creates an additional bottleneck problem.

The X-Storage Game Streaming function of the X-Storage network will be developed to overcome this issue for high quality realism game content and will enable millions of new customers with low performance hardware (smartTV, web tablets, standard PC’s and laptops) to join the high performance gaming world.

This X-Storage service will connect literally the game publisher directly to a user in front of his smartTV. A selected X-Storage Cluster Unit qualified for this service will be linked to the user end device (smartTV) and is processing + rendering the entire HQ game content. A permanent real time video conversion (by onboard DSP of the GAC) and re-streaming of this video picture (+ sound) to the end user’s screen will eliminate the current hardware requirements to be able to join and enjoy those types of games. Devices of the end user just become the status of a display/screen and a remote control (tv rm control, mouse, keyboard, touchscreen).

This elimination of the hardware requirements is directly correlated to the bandwidth and especially to the latency of the users broadband connection. This will decide about the nature of HQ games (e.g. strategy vs car racing) the X-Storage Game Streaming function will offer / recommend to the user, to ensure always the best gaming experience possible.

The benchmarking tool of the web front end layer of the X-Storage Main Hub is analysing and balancing the aspects of FPS, level of detail, screen resolution and network latency which are crucial parameters for the extent of the X-Storage Game Streaming service provided.

Besides the fact that a low hardware entry level for the end user’s device will create a broad inflow of new users to this market section, is this X-Storage Game Streaming service opening up a complete new spectrum of very profitable and dynamic business models for the publishers of electronic games.
